Z Shmueli (they/he) is an Associate Practicing Clinical Counselor with their Master of Arts in Integral Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies. They practice from a holistic perspective that includes the mind, body, and Spirit as equally important factors in personal growth and healing. Z comes from a background in Dance/Movement therapy and Somatic Studies, and uses movement, sensory awareness, guided imagery, and mindfulness to assist clients in developing their awareness of emotions. Z provides affirming therapy LGBTQIA+ community members, and provides relationship therapy for trans and gender non-confoming couples. Z also works with neurodivergent individuals, artists, creatives, healers and helpers from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Z works from a Transpersonal perspective, the idea that connection to spirituality or a higher consciousness can be psychologically beneficial and supportive to personal healing, and is trained in Gestalt and Existential Therapy, which promotes self-acceptance of the many parts of ourselves, and supports integration of these parts into a cohesive whole. Z has been studying the potential effects of psychedelics for 10 years, and is trained psychedelic harm reduction. Z currently provides integration therapy for individuals exploring their consciousness with intentional psychedelic use and/or microdosing, and is in training to provide Ketamine Assisted Therapy at Alchemy Community Therapy Center in Oakland, CA.
